About us

Bates DDS offers comprehensive dentistry for adults and children, minimizing referrals to specialists. Several levels of sedation are available to those who are anxious about dental treatment. This office serves local patients as well as many from neighboring counties and states. New patients are always welcome and referrals are greatly appreciated.

Our mission as a dental team is to provide professional and technologically current dental services, with a commitment to excellence and safety. Every patient is important to us. Our concern is that patients are treated carefully with special attention to their comfort, their time, and their needs. We strive to be a value to our patients with a goal to exceed their expectations.

Ryan L. Bates, DDS

Dr. Ryan L. Bates graduated from Freeman High School, Brigham Young University, and the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. Upon completion of his dental degree, he entered active duty service with the US Army. During this time, he received further training by completing a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma, WA. Following his training, he served as a Brigade Dental Surgeon and Staff Dental Officer at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, AK, which included a 10 month deployment to Southeastern Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

During his five years in the military, Dr. Bates completed hundreds of hours in post-graduate training and thousands of hours in patient care. His experience encompasses all aspects of dentistry, to include diagnostics, oral surgery, periodontics, endodontics, prosthetics, orthodontics, implant dentistry, and sedation.

After his military service, Dr. Bates purchased his father’s practice in Deer Park, WA and has continued to provide the very best and most technologically advanced care that dentistry has to offer

Ryan and his wife, Afton, have six children. They have made their home in Deer Park and look forward to many years in that area. They enjoy recreating together and serving in their church and community.
